Rad Air Congratulates Local Hero for Prestigious Award

As a proud sponsor of the Parma Heights Food Pantry, Rad Air had the honor of visiting Parma Heights City Hall for a reception honoring the pantry’s founder, Ann George. Ann, a local resident, started the Parma Heights Food Pantry in 2007 and was formally recognized for her hard work and dedication. Ann was awarded theAARP’s most prestigious award: The 2011 Andrus Award for Community Service.

Ann’s pantry serves more than 200 families each month – and the numbers keep growing. It is a self-serve operation. Individuals come to the pantry and are given a color-coded guide to help them select certain items and how many they need to feed their family. Volunteers at the pantry help families to bag their groceries and push shopping carts through the aisles. Ann has expanded the pantry to also provide clothing, books, toys, pet food and even skills-training. The group of volunteers at the PHFP has helped many individuals with resume-writing and job applications.

If you would like to donate to the PHFP, you can drop off items at their drop box or stop by during their open hours. If you cannot make it to the pantry during their open hours, please feel free to drop off your donation at Rad Air Complete Car Care in Parma Heights, and we will drop them off for you.
