This month’s Rad Ride belongs to Mike Balogh of Brook Park, Ohio. Mike’s 1970 Black Dodge Charger is his masterpiece. He had always been in love with the 1970 Charger and finally decided to buy one of his own in 2010. The car was bought off the internet from a man in Mississippi. According to Mike, “The car was nothing more than a rolling chassis when I bought it. It took me two years and three months to get it running just right.”
Mike performed most of the rebuild himself. He says, “The biggest challenge was getting those hard-to-find original parts.” Mike loves his Charger for it’s classic looks, body style and his own personal touches. The car may have a stock appearance but does have some of Mike’s preferences such as the grille which is an original from the 1969 model. Mike and his wife enjoy taking the car for weekend drives and to car shows where he shows of his engine rebuild, transmission work, and more.
