The ball dropped on Public Square, and the crew at The 9 has already swept up the confetti. 2018 is officially here, and it’s time to follow up on all of those new year’s resolutions you made. Some are harder than others. When you talk about your “spare tire” resolution, you probably don’t think about your car, but you are right on point with our car care resolutions. Rad Air has 5 car maintenance resolutions you’ll want to follow through on to make sure your car performs well throughout 2018.
1. Speaking of spare tires…
Make this the year that you are prepared for anything by having a quality spare tire in your trunk. A full-sized spare is far more reliable than a donut, and you’ll be glad you invested in one so you are ready if you ever have a blow-out. Make sure your spare tire is properly inflated and secured with the right tools in your trunk.
2. Stay on top oil of oil change visits.
Every 3,000 miles this year. Or 5,000. Or 8,000. Whatever your oil and vehicle requires. For real this time. We all start the year with the best intentions and then get behind on our oil changes. Your car and your bottom line will thank you for staying current on your visits.
3. Some other items should be checked
Tire pressure, tire condition, lights and signals as well as windshield washer fluid should be checked monthly.
4. Stay on top of these oft-forgotten maintenance items:
Spark plugs, brakes, coolant, steering and suspension systems should be inspected at least once a year, or every 12,000 miles.
5. Finally, remember E doesn’t stand for eventually.
When you see your tank near E, it is time to get gas. Impurities that sit in the bottom of your gas tank can be pushed through to your engine and contaminate your system. It’s not just a hassle to run out of gas; it can damage your vehicle.
Rad Air can you help you and your vehicle have a great 2018! Schedule your winter maintenance visit now and get your new year off to a great start for you and your car.
