Our Brunswick location had a chance to shine recently as the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance invited our own Chris Frank to the set of their podcast “The Buzz on Business.” Chair of the Board, Sandra Jenkins, hosts the podcast which is a vehicle to highlight businesses in the area. Rad Air was honored to be a part of the show, and Chris did a great job representing the brand and our team at Brunswick.
Chris was excited to talk about all of the great services Rad Air offers, saying “We offer complete automotive service and maintenance” before going through a list of all of the Rad Air services, ending in E-Checks. The mention of that particular service prompted Sandra to ask if you still needed to do E-Checks nowadays! With no hesitation, Chris replied with the E-Check criteria, noting that E-Checks are free at Rad Air, just as they would be if you went to any of the state owned E-Check service stations.
Why Brunswick? “It’s a great area. It’s growing by leaps and bounds. A lot of people are coming into the city and into the area,” replied Chris. He was then asked, now that Rad Air is in Brunswick, what types of costumers would he be likely to see. Chris responded, “Our ideal customer is anyone who’s looking to keep their vehicle on the road. They want to keep it safe and sound so they don’t have to worry about it.” He continued, “We’re a little different at Rad Air – in terms of giving complimentary safety inspections and stuff like that for our customers to make sure that their vehicle is safe for their upcoming trips.”
Sandra asked the million dollar question: “What sets you apart from other automotive places?” Chris replied with an answer that might surprise some, but really is a key to Rad Air’s success. “The biggest difference is the way we pay our technicians. The majority of shops out there pay their technicians by the job. In the industry, they call it flat rate pay. They are paid by the job that they do, as opposed to us where we pay the technicians hourly so they can take the additional time to make sure that the job’s done right.”
Chris knows a little something about car repair and the industry itself. “I’ve been in the automotive business my whole life. I’ve worked every aspect, from being an auto mechanic up to a technician. I’ve been a parts manager. I’ve been a service manager. So, I had an opportunity come up to get involved and open a franchise with Rad Air in the Brunswick area, which, like I said, is a great and growing area. Everything just seemed to line up and it seemed like the right move at the right time.”
Chris is wasting no time in getting involved with great events in the area, as well as the Northern Medina Chamber. “I took part in the ‘Business at the Barn’ which was a great event. Met a lot of people. Very successful, I’ve been to a few of the luncheons and I’m looking forward to being part of it this summer.”
When Sandra asked if there were other aspects of the business Chris would like to highlight, he brought it right back to the core of the Rad Air brand: excellent service. “We try to accommodate our customers as best we can. We do appointments as far as offering waiting appointments, or they can even drop it off with us, and we even have free loaner cars available. This makes it a lot easier for people to drop their car off, pick up a loaner car, and go about their day and leave their vehicle with us!”
“We all have lives,” continued Chris. “We have kids we have to get to and fro and everything else.”
It’s that type of commitment to our neighbors that has made Rad Air Northeast Ohio’s neighborhood car care center. We thank the Northern Medina County Chamber for the opportunity to be on “The Buzz on Business,” and we encourage you to contact Chris and the team in Brunswick and experience the Rad Air difference today.
