Andy Fiffick

Andy Fiffick is the President & CEO of Rad Air Complete Car Care and Tire Centers, and Hybrid 1 with ten (10) service centers in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs. A life- long “gear-head”, his career started at the early age of 6 when he fell in love with cars while helping his father work in his garage. “Dad was a diesel truck mechanic and taught me to do things right the first time”. That philosophy has served Andy well throughout his career.

Andy attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana after completing a Vocational Automotive program in high school. After a short stint as a diesel mechanic, Andy started a career at Ford Motor Co., Engine division. While pursuing a business degree at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, Andy stayed with Ford for ten years, holding many hourly and supervisory positions while attending college part-time. Dismayed with big business and the need to follow his heart, Andy left Ford and purchased a small radiator shop in 1986 with one goal in mind, to be the best repair shop in town!

Andy is now or has in the past sits on;

• Parma city school’s vocational department “Steering Committee”
• Ohio Technical College “Program Advisory Committee”
• Cuyahoga County Joint Vocational School “Curriculum Committee”
• Currently sits on the Cleveland Better Business Bureau as Vice Chairman.
• National Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Operations Committee who aids the ASA in all legislative updates and operational insight into the aftermarket repair industry.

In the past 44 years in the automotive repair business, Andy has learned the value of training, management, marketing and the need to keep at the forefront of the technology affecting our industry.

Education:

Andy has ASE Master Tech certifications and is continually updating his own and all of his employees’ education. Rad Air Complete Car Care and Tire Centers and ASE Blue Seal shops, along with being AAA (Ohio Motorist) and Ohio E-check approved repair facilities.

All technicians are MACS / EPA Section 609, Ohio E-check, and ASE certified. Andy believes that our industry is changing at an accelerated pace; the need for education for both technicians and management has never been more important.

Andy operated A/C Specialty Cars from 1989 through 1995 and built 65 custom “Cobra” kit cars, street rods and show vehicles. Andy has personally restored and modified many vehicles, was active in the show car circuit and won many awards. Several vehicles were featured in magazine articles. Andy has also served as a judge in several car show events.

Andy’s commitment to staying at the forefront in advertising, marketing and all aspects of social media has kept Rad Air growing for over forty-four (44) years now.

Awards and Recognition:

• 2022 received the Alpha award from ASA
• 2023 received MACS Pioneer Award
• Rad Air was named runner-up in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and was named as the “2011 Top Shop“ in the country by Motor Age magazine.
• Additionally, Rad Air was also voted as the #1 auto repair shop two times in the FOX8 Hot List contest.
• Andy is the past host of “Auto Tech Connect” a weekly live automotive call in talk show which aired every Wednesday evening on WERE 1300 AM “People Talk Radio” in Cleveland Ohio from 2003 to 2006.
• Rad Air Complete Car Care service centers also won the local Better Business Bureau “Torch Award” for 2003 and again in 2005 as runner-up; which is given to business with outstanding integrity and customer service.
• Andy is the go-to expert for several radio and TV shows in the area and is called upon numerous times a year to discuss current auto related topics for radio and TV news programs. Additionally, Andy has been called to be an expert witness in several lawsuits dating back to 1996.
• Andy is also a contributing editor for two trade magazines, A/C Action, and Motor Age and is published several times per year.
• Andy has been a MACS Worldwide member since 1987 and is a regular at the MACS conventions. Andy has been on the MACS Worldwide board of directors for the past twenty years and is currently the CEO and Chairman of the board.
