He might not be able to fly a kite or kick a football, but Charlie Brown and his group of friends are a staple in American pop culture. We all know and love the Peanuts Gang created by the late Charles M. Schulz, but did you know the Peanuts made their television debut in a Ford commercial?
Snoopy, Pig Pen, Linus and his infamous blanket first appeared in a 1961 commercial advertising the Ford Falcon.The Falcon went on to enormous sales success in the U.S. and the Peanuts Gang went on to film memorable holiday TV specials such as “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” It’s safe to say both the Ford Falcon and the Peanuts Gang are American classics.
