Spend a day on the beach. People across the state of Ohio and beyond travel this way to enjoy the Lake Erie shore. While it is in our own backyard, we can easily forget how nice it is to be so close to the water! There’s a 100-mile stretch of unique towns and beaches to explore all the way from Cleveland to Toledo. Pick a destination like Port Clinton or Edgewater Park, pack lunch, beach towels and toys, and be on your way!

Take in the sights from Lake Erie Bluffs. This 50-foot coastal observation tower offers multiple viewing platforms of the lake and nearby wetlands. Bald eagle sightings are not uncommon! Make sure to put this unique park in Lake County on your list.

Visit Ohio’s top summer resort town, Geneva on the Lake. This favorite summer destination is just a short drive from Greater Cleveland. From arcades to wineries to the beach, there are many activities to choose from depending on your family’s interests. If you are looking for a vacation destination close to home, this may be a great choice!

Drive down to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. From waterfalls and rock formations to hiking trails, the National Park offers many ways for families to be active together outdoors. You won’t be far from the Ohio and Erie Canal Way or the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, so consider making a day trip.

Check out the Cleveland History Center. There are several wonderful museums in the historic University Circle neighborhood but we may be slightly biased toward the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum, which is part of the Cleveland History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society. The Center is a great destination for families, especially during the summer. In addition to the Center’s rotating and permanent features—including the Crawford Museum—you can enjoy unlimited rides on the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel, outdoor shows for kids, midway games, face painting, make and take crafts and a variety of summer foods.

Make the most of the remainder of summer 2017 and enjoy some of Northeast Ohio’s greatest destinations. Count on your local Rad Air for any summer vehicle maintenance needs.
