Remember watching the Jetsons as a kid and thinking how cool it would be to have a flying car? Did you ever watch one of those old black and white Martian movies and think about taking off for another dimension in a flying saucer? Those are the types of things we are going to celebrate on “International Extraterrestrial Abduction Day” on March 20.
There were 67 UFO sightings in Ohio in 2017, but as far as we know, there wasn’t one report of anyone seeing the Jetsons’ car. But here are some futuristic cars that are making the rounds on the car show scene that are giving us a glimpse into the future of travel. They might not be from outer space, but they are “definitely out of this world.”
Nissan XMotion
As if it wasn’t cool enough to drive an SUV that looks like a tank for a zombie apocalypse, the interior of Nissan’s XMotion resembles a plane cockpit. This might be as close as you can get to flying George Jetson’s Car!
Byton All-electric SUV
Not only is this car all electric, making it environmentally safe, it is loaded with space-age toys like having cameras instead of side mirrors, voice and gesture controls, and self-driving capabilities.
Lexus LF-1 Limitless
Lexus drew inspiration from a Japanese sword (pun intended), and this space-aged design has everything from a touchpad center console and expansive touch controls on the steering wheel, to a “cosmos” inspired detail on the console and door panel.
Toyota’s e-Palette
Out of all of the cool cars on this list, the E-Palette could very well be the one that changes our world the most. The self-driving pods would be able to do everything from serving as public transportation to becoming a new type of food truck to delivering furniture to your home!
