Rad Air of Downtown Cleveland
Doing Automotive Repairs the “Rad Air Way”
When you look into the ten service bays at Rad Air’s Downtown Cleveland location, you never know what you might see: Channel 3 News trucks, FBI vehicles, or even a Ghostbusters look-alike vehicle complete with emblems and zappers on top. Recently, a Jeep Commander came in on a tow truck. It had flood damage while it was parked, but they soon discovered the catalytic converter and the battery had been dismantled. As shop manager Jim Youngless notes, there is never a dull moment downtown.
Jim has been with Rad Air for 9 years, and his career journey showcases the growth and opportunities provided to Rad Air employees. Starting at Rad Air as a lead technician at our former Lorain location, Jim went on to our Parma Heights location as a master technician. He then moved to the Cleveland location to serve as shop foreman before taking on his current management role.
His passion for automotive repairs runs deep. Mechanically inclined since he was very young, Jim worked at a gas station on tires and other car-related repairs. He has spent the last 25 years working in the automotive industry. Jim has stayed with Rad Air because of his belief in what he calls the “Rad Air Way,” which is to really listen to and care about what the customer needs, do the job right the first time, and keep the client for life.
Fostering a Strong Team and Community

In addition to Jim, the team at Rad Air of Downtown Cleveland includes three automotive technicians. Randy, dubbed by Jim as his “go-to guy,” handles much of the diagnostic repairs. Eric, an all-around mechanic, works on brake repairs, cooling systems, suspension issues, and some diagnostics. Jayden, a relative newcomer to the industry, has been with Rad Air for about a year and handles general maintenance needs, including oil changes and tire rotations. Tom Warmuth is the general manager, and Karen Warmuth is the office manager; both have been with Rad Air for over 25 years and help guide the Cleveland team to success. Occasionally, you will see Tom completing an oil change, training a new employee, or hanging out with the team, while Karen manages the business operations.
With the location in the heart of Cleveland, the shop serves a wide variety of customers. Sometimes they assist individuals with unexpected car repairs during the Cleveland Air Show or while they are visiting downtown to see the Rock Hall. They service vehicles for many TV and radio personalities and the occasional pro athlete.
For every single client who walks through the door, Jim and his team strive to provide a welcoming environment, a friendly greeting, and the most efficient and high-quality automotive repairs around. That’s the Rad Air Way.
