The Akron Rad Air recently hosted it’s first annual Wine, Women & Wheels Garage Party to a group of eager, ready-to-learn women who arrived at the Akron auto shop with a list of questions. Quenton Takacs, the service manager at the Merriman Valley repair shop, was ready to answer all questions during this 2-hour event. The women guests sipped on wine and dined on a light dinner prior to getting their hands dirty. The guests rotated through three stations which focused on different aspects of automotive repair and maintenance. The first station focused on explaining basic maintenance services and the importance of regular safety inspections during an oil change. Then the ladies went under the vehicle in the next station to learn about the different systems below the car including the exhaust system, heating and cooling systems and more. Finally, the ladies went on to learn about brake pads, rotors, drums and tires and how to choose the right tires for their needs.
